Eurovision 2027: Greece Launches “Sing for Greece 2027” Selection Process
Two Semi-Finals and a National Final, “Sing for Greece 2027”, to Select the Song
The submission process for Greece’s participation in the 71st Eurovision Song Contest opens today, Tuesday, 22 September 2026. The contest will take place in May 2027 in Burgas, Bulgaria.
Following the strong response to last year’s selection process, the selection of the Greek song will once again take place this year through the competitive rounds of ERT’s “Sing for Greece”, comprising two Semi-Finals and a National Final, giving the contemporary Greek music scene the opportunity to showcase its songs and, of course, giving the public the opportunity to participate in selecting Greece’s representative.
A total of up to 20 songs will compete in the two Semi-Finals, of which 12 will qualify for the National Final exclusively through the public vote. In the National Final, the winning song will be selected through a combination of the public vote and the votes of the professional juries, giving the winning performer the ticket to the 71st Eurovision Song Contest.
ERT’s “Sing for Greece” returns for the second time in the history of national finals in Greece, as last year’s edition was warmly embraced by both artists and viewers, with the three competitive shows recording very high viewing figures on both ERT1 and ERTFLIX. The public response to this selection process confirmed the strong interest in an open and competitive procedure for selecting Greece’s Eurovision entry, which continues this year with a renewed approach.
Interested applicants can submit their proposals electronically from today, Tuesday, 22 September 2026, until Sunday, 1 November 2026, at 23:59, in order to participate in the process for selecting Greece’s song and representative for the 71st Eurovision Song Contest.
