Eurovision 2026: The Greek Delegation Departed for Austria
In a particularly positive atmosphere, filled with enthusiasm and optimism, and accompanied by everyone’s warmest wishes for “Good luck,” the Greek delegation departed this morning, Friday, May 1, 2026, for Vienna, Austria, in order to participate in the 70th Eurovision Song Contest.
Akylas, full of energy and smiling, holding the Greek flag, arrived at “Eleftherios Venizelos” Airport together with Fokas Evangelinos, creative director of the Greek entry, the actor-dancers Parthena Chorozidou, Michalis Michaelidis, Christos Nikolaou and Konstantinos Makrypidis, who will accompany him on the Eurovision stage, as well as the rest of the delegation members.
The Greek representative, expressing his excitement, spoke to journalists and to the people who were there to wish him well, and promised that he would give his very best on the stage of the Wiener Stadthalle.
The pace will be intense for the Greek delegation, as the first technical rehearsal is scheduled for the following day, Saturday, May 2.
The second rehearsal will take place on Wednesday, May 6, while Greece, with Akylas and the song “Ferto,” will perform in 4th position in the First Semi-Final of Eurovision 2026, on May 12, competing for the highly sought-after ticket to the Grand Final, which will be held on May 16.
