Eurovision 2026: A Balkan-infused version of “Ferto”
The beloved “Ferto”, just before being presented by Akyla on the Eurovision stage in Vienna, receives a unique new version by Eurovision legend Željko Joksimović.
Titled “Ferto vić”, this reinterpretation gives the song a distinct Balkan flavor, strengthening its connection to the region’s sound, tradition, and emotional depth.
The arrangement is marked by an authentic sound — rich in imagery, memories, and intensity — reintroducing Balkan music to a contemporary audience with freshness and energy.
The artistic collaboration between the two creators, which began in Serbia and further developed in Greece, evolves into a partnership defined by strong chemistry and meaningful artistic depth. Željko Joksimović has been actively supporting Greece’s Eurovision 2026 entry from the very beginning, while Akyla responds with a performance full of passion and intensity.
The Balkan sound in this new version is not merely an aesthetic choice — it is identity. A breath that carries stories. In “Ferto vić”, joy coexists with nostalgia, and pain transforms into celebration. The asymmetrical rhythms, characteristic of Balkan music, reflect the pulse of life.
