Dimitris Kontopoulos was born on November 9th 1971 in Athens.
After finishing school at the “Ziridis” Educational Institution, he studied film scoring at the USC in Los Angeles, California.
He has worked as a composer and producer with the biggest names in the Greek discography, among which Antonis Remos, Despina Vandi, Sakis Rouvas, Anna Vissi, Elena Paparizou, Michael Hatzigiannis, etc.

Dimitris Kontopoulos is known abroad for his collaborations with important artists of mainly the Russian music scene and the cover of his songs in countries such as Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey and Israel.
Furthermore, he has worked with the Greek director Nikos Perrakis, writing music for his films.
As composer and producer, he has participated at the Eurovision Song Contest seven times: in 2007 with Belarus, in 2008 with Ukraine, in 2009 with Greece, in 2013 with Azerbaijan, in 2014 and 2016 with Russia. These participations have each time been distinguished among the top placements, while last year his song “You are the only one” won the first place in the public vote.
